Hello everyone,
I can't believe it's already Thursday! The teachers are working us all really hard, and I will have to do some more planning after this tonight. I think I might make something like feathers or tree bark, maybe have some bird sounds going too. The birds are mad here - there are lots of magpies, but they're different from ours, noisier and nosier. They stare at you hard, like Paddington! And there are other ones that make the strangest sounds in the morning - I'm going to try and get a recording and even put it on here for you to hear it.
Talking of wildlife, I just met the biggest spider ever. It's called a huntsman, and it was as big as daddy's hand with very long legs. It was in my front room, where I am now, and Leah, my room mate, called one of the boys from the workshop to come and get it for us - he used a big saucepan to carry it far away, but we're not sure if we'll sleep too well tonight!
I was trying to put a picture in here, but it's not working - I'll try again tomorrow. I'm not sure what I'm doing for the weekend. Some people are going up to Sydney, a big city about 2 or 3 hours away, but I might stay here and take it easy! I haven't seen any kangaroos yet, and koalas are quite rare and mostly live in a sort of zoo...I do want to see something nicer than that spider.
It rained today here, and people ran around dancing and grinning. They've been in a drought for the last ten years - that means not having enough water because it doesn't rain enough, so they were very happy! I hear you might have had snow - is that right?
How are Rainbow Teddy and Rabbit? Did they come swimming with you? I bet grandma was amazed at how good you both were - which grandma came with you? Give them a hug for me won't you, and then have a big hug for yourself from me too. I love you very much and will enjoy telling you my stories when I get back.
with all my love and kisses (you have to blow them hard from here to Scotland),
Mummy
